Curriculum Vitae (Dog on a Leash)
2024Arduino, ULN2803A Darlington, motors, marker, acrylicThis drawing robot takes on the role of a tired and jaded artist who specialises in the art of bullshitting and pandering to the requests of clients. The device was upcycled from a previous interactive devices class and despite following an open source instructable to build it, I had faced multiple problems, including purchasing the wrong driver and having to solder the wires in a roundabout way.
Messiness is perceived to be unpresentable and unprofessional. Often times we have to find ways to hide these inperfections and hold our projects together with the power of flowery language and duct tape. In the end, we are just silly little ducks in a pond – we struggle and paddle hard so that we can swim gracefully and show the world that we have our shit together.
